The 13th Asian Studies 2025 meeting, entitled ‘Artificial Intelligence and the Development of Asian Studies’, took place on Friday 19 September at the La Corrala Cultural Centre in Madrid. The meeting was organised by Casa Asia and the Centre for East Asian Studies at the UAM.
This year's edition opened with a lecture by Kwok-leong Tang, professor at Harvard University, entitled ‘Why Expertise Matters More than Ever: Asian Studies in the GenAi Era’.

Next Tuesday, 28 October, we will celebrate the pioneering work of Professor Emeritus Kayoko Takagi as a specialist in Japanese language and literature at the UAM. A teacher, translator and mentor, she also currently serves as the brilliant academic director of the renowned Japan Collection series published by the UAM Publications Service.
