Human Sciences: Geography, Anthropology, and African and Asian Studies

This doctoral program allows for the advanced development of knowledge in some of the most essential areas of the humanities and social sciences through the interdisciplinary nature of the program itself.

In this way, students will acquire the skills necessary for in-depth analysis and diagnosis of socioeconomic, cultural, political, environmental, and territorial issues. In addition, this assessment will enable them to propose alternatives or solutions to the most important problems of the present day.

    • Social construction of inequality: class, gender and ethnicity.

    • Migration, identities and intercultural relations.

    • Postcolonial studies and critical social thought.

    • Poverty, exclusion and human rights.

 

  • Arabic and Islamic studies.

    • Political processes in the contemporary Arab and Islamic world.

    • Islamic thought.

    • Sociology of contemporary Islam: gender, migration, Islamophobia.

    • Arab ideologies and cultural expressions.
